I’ve been an artist my entire life. I’m one of those creative types who enjoys many creative mediums, including visual arts, 3D modeling and design, website design, and writing.
3D environment art is one of my greatest passions. I believe an environment should tell a story. Throughout my journey as a 3D artist, I have sampled many different workflows and software packages. Ultimately I have set on what I call my Holy Triad: Maya, ZBrush, and Photoshop. These are the three packages I could not live without. However, I do use many supporting packages to help speed the process along, such as Headus UVLayout and the Quixel Suite (nDo, dDo, and MegaScans).
I have a strong passion for not only 3D modeling, but for creatig entire worlds.
I have been interested in creating for entertainment for most of my life, with my strongest passions lying in sci-fi and fantasy. From film to comic books, I’ve tasted many different mediums, but I found my greatest passion for game development. Telling a story is exciting. Telling a story where the viewer plays an interactive role in the world is empowering!
My voyage into game development began in junior high using RPGMaker. By the time I hit high school I found comfort with Unity 3D, back when I had to run a virtual MacOS server to be able to run Unity on my Windows PC. In college they taught us UDK, built on Unreal Engine 3. This became my go-to engine until 2013 when I was invited to beta test Unreal Engine 4.
Unreal Engine 4 has become my weapon of choice, where I play a role as an active UE4 developer. From level design to Blueprint, Environment Art and particle effects in Unreal Cascade, Unreal Engine 4 is where I now call my development home.
I am also no stranger to the technical side of things.
I’ve spent a large amount of time involved in computer programming and understanding the inner workings of digital software. This has allowed me to seamlessly transition into understanding all technical aspects of the development process. I have been programming in C# for many years as a Microsoft Certified Professional and have recently gotten back into C++.
